Food waste is the single largest category of material sent to US landfills and it's one of the most damaging. When food scraps decompose underground without oxygen, they produce methane, a greenhouse gas more than 80 times more potent than CO₂ over a 20-year period. Food waste makes up just 24% of what we landfill, but it's responsible for nearly 60% of landfill methane emissions.
The fix isn't complicated. It starts in your kitchen, with the right bag. Terracor makes compostable can liners designed specifically for collecting food scraps at home. Our bags are made from plant-based PLA and PBAT, no chemical additives, no synthetic plastics. They hold up to the job, and when they reach a composting facility, they break down completely into CO₂, water, and biomass. Nothing harmful left behind.

I've spent over 17 years in the packaging industry. It started with an idea to connect advertising space with compostable shopping bags a pivot that turned into a career built entirely around sustainable materials, supply chains, and the question of what happens to packaging after it leaves your hands.
I've approached this work the same way throughout: technology-agnostic, honest about what the science says, and focused on solutions that work for the way people actually live. Terracor is that philosophy in product form.
